Linfield Theatre presents

Macbeth

Performance dates: Oct. 30, 31, Nov. 1, 6, 7 & 8 at 7:30 p.m. & 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 9.

About the show

Macbeth promotional imageThe day before Halloween, Linfield Theatre opens the most haunted and haunting of all of Shakespeare’s classics: Macbeth. With iconic lines like “Double, double, toil and trouble,” and “out, out, damn spot,” Macbeth demonstrates what happens when ambition and prophecy combine, to fatal effect. A fast–paced, intimate tragedy, Macbeth careens through a world of magic, war, and violence in many forms. This production reveals the way human greed and lust for power ravage the land, our communities and our sense of self. Between witches chanting, battles, and assassinations, this production will immerse audiences in a medieval–modern universe that suggests Scotland and has deep resonances to today. It is directed by Lindsey Mantoan.

Opening Night Reception on Thursday, Oct. 30: Please join us after the performance to congratulate the cast, crew and creative team with wine and light refreshments. And help us celebrate the opening of Linfield Theatre’s 105th season of live theatre!

Faeries, Kings, and Bloody Hands: Post-show Discussion on Saturday, Nov. 1: Please join us after the performance on Nov. 1 for a panel discussion of the folklore, political dynamics, and history of Macbeth. What power do the three “weird sisters” hold, and why does Macbeth succumb to the violence of assassination in exchange for power? What role does Lady Macbeth play in her husband’s actions, and what is her motivation? How is the plot influenced by the ascension of King James I to the British Throne and the unification of Scotland and England under a single crown? Director Lindsey Mantoan will moderate. The discussion is free, but tickets are required to attend the performance.

Cast & Creative Team: The cast includes Colin Bellairs as Macbeth with Eleanor Black, Lola Dimoff, Maggie Greenland, Kaitlin Harwood, Julia Hutchison, Lucy Ingham, Lindsay Kreizenbeck, Milo Knoke, Echo Koons, Shayden Lough, Erik Martin, Skylar McLeod, Tony Pascalar, Cameron Ramirez, David Stephens and Dominic Thompson.
