Ian Edwards Adjunct

Dr. Edwards (“Dr. E”) is an instructor of anthropology. With a broad background spanning cultural, environmental, archaeological, physical/biological and applied anthropology, his teaching and research focus on the intersections of people, culture and the environment.

He holds a B.A. in anthropology from Plymouth State University, an M.A. in applied anthropology from Oregon State University, and a Ph.D. in cultural anthropology with an environmental focus from the University of Oregon. His fieldwork has taken him across the United States and to Mali, West Africa, where he has studied wildlife use, traditional medicine markets and local environmental knowledge.

In addition to his academic work, Dr. Edwards has served as a Peace Corps volunteer, contract archaeologist and state-certified archaeologist.
