Ben Thompson is an experienced educator and financial professional with more than 15 years in academia, including six years as a department chair. Before transitioning to higher education, he worked as a senior financial analyst for Belo Corporation (parent company of ABC Corporation and The Dallas Morning News), Primeco Telecommunications (prior to its merger with Verizon) and the U.S. Small Business Administration in the Disaster Assistance Section.
Based in Arlington, Texas, Thompson is married, has two adult children and three grandchildren. A lifelong soccer enthusiast, he now enjoys the sport more as a passion than as a pastime.
