Professor Chen teaches a wide range of courses, including Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting I and II, Cost Accounting, Auditing I and II, and CPA review courses. In addition to his teaching experience, he served as a senior assistant controller with the Global Controller Organization at Oracle Corporation.

He began his accounting career at EY (Ernst & Young) in Metropolitan New York, where he worked for six years with major corporate clients such as Verizon and Fujifilm. During this time, he also completed a six-month expatriate assignment in EY’s Beijing office. A certified public accountant in both California and New York, Professor Chen is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and passed all sections of the CPA Exam on his first attempt.

Professor Chen earned a Bachelor of Science degree with distinction from the University of Minnesota, where he was awarded the Michael Chowdry Entrepreneurial Scholarship. He went on to complete his MBA in public accounting at St. John’s University in New York on a full research assistant scholarship and participated in the university’s executive-in-residence program. He later earned a doctorate in accounting from Jacksonville University.
