Angela Thomas Adjunct

Dr. Angela Thomas (known to many of her students as Dr. A. or Dr. Angela) is a public health leader, researcher and educator with extensive experience in healthcare administration and delivery. She currently serves as vice president for healthcare delivery research at MedStar Health, where she focuses on improving affordability, accessibility, safety and quality of care. She is also the executive lead for DC Safe Babies Safe Moms, an initiative aimed at reducing disparities in maternal and infant outcomes in Washington, D.C.

Thomas has held leadership positions throughout her career, including executive director of cardiovascular research administration and executive director of the MedStar Health Services Research Network. Earlier in her career, she managed pelvic floor research operations in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Michigan, where she began her professional journey as a research associate.

In addition to her professional work, Thomas has taught and trained associates, managers and directors in public and community health. She is passionate about teaching and enjoys sharing her expertise with students.

Outside of work, she and her husband of 16 years enjoy time with their blended family of five adult children and their Yorkie, Macy. Her hobbies include restoring old furniture, reading, singing, going to movies and writing.
